I traveled to Chicago from Kansas City to take the Powerscore Weekend Course and I wasn't disappointed. The class was only $395 for 16 hours, which is the main reason I signed up.
The class size was smaller than you would imagine, only 2 people, 1 person didn't show up. The instructor said it was the smallest class they had ever had, and that this was a slow time of year which is true. So it was very classy of them to go ahead with the class as we basically received personal tutoring for a discounted rate.
The course was very well designed without a minute to spare to fit in everything we could. We worked through a 200 page workbook, learning some tricks and how to best solve the type of questions that are asked on the GMAT. The instructor was very helpful, having scored a 760 himself, and enthusiastically answered any question we had despite the fast paced nature of the weekend. He was happy to start early after lunch and we even ran over time on Sunday evening.
I would highly recommend the Powerscore weekend class for anyone looking to study and then take the GMAT in a short amount of time. This is an excellent crash course that will no doubt raise your score considerably. Also if you are at the start of your study and are planning to take the test in the future this will save you considerable time orientating yourself with the GMAT and no doubt set the foundation for an excellent score. Also if you only require or aim for a lower level score, this class and a few practice tests may be all you need. Anyone who is close to Chicago, the instructor was excellent and teaches all the Chicago classes.
