(A) Even as they never forgave
(B) While they never forgave
(C) Just like they never forgave
(D) Similarly to not forgiving
(E) In spite of their never forgiving


why B is wrong?

almost every last one of users is talking about the rule of "as" + "action", but what would they say about the same old - "He acted like a fool" - here is the action and b.c. the action is made by person, not by thing, like is required. Syrians are not thing, so IMO like is appropriate, hence C.
