Hi,

I am thinking about applying to Northwestern or University of Chicago's PT MBA program. As mentioned in my subject title, GPA will be a major hurdle for me, but hopefully other areas of my application will be enough to make up for it.

Profile:

GPA: 2.56 from Top 50 school with dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Economics
- Worked 20+ hours/week throughout college and self financed 100% tuition

GMAT: 710 AWA 6.0

Work Experience:
- 2 years at a Fortune 500 High Tech company doing sales and marketing. Directly managed $40M in sales revenue when I left the company
- 2 years at a Global Fortune 150 manufacturing company as a business program manager. Managed client relationships as well as pre through post production program management. Part of the experience included working inside a factory in China for 6 months doing manufacturing operations work
- 1 year (current job) as a consultant at a top 10 (non-Mckinsey/BCG/Bain) management consulting company doing supply chain strategy work. Currently on track to be promoted to a post-MBA position next year

Recommendations:
- Shouldn't be a problem...will either get it from Senior Managers/Partners from my current firm or the VP of the Global Fortune 150 company that I used to work for

Extracurricular Activities:
- Mentor to City Year corp members (full-time service to Chicago education system)
- Completed 1 half marathon and 1 full marathon

I feel good about other areas of my background but am still concerned about my GPA (even though it's been 6 years). Please let me know what my chances are and whether I should potentially take my GMAT again and get it up to 750 range.

Thank you for your help.
