A. as much as that which is being emitted annually by all

Confused btw B and D... D > B but with many questions

twice - adverb

amount of pollutant by X is twice as much as emitted by all Y(y1+y2..+yn),
that emitted by the motor vehicle population.
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..

HSPA.

i also feel that "compared to" is used for unlike things to point out the similarities but in the sentence since "we are comparing the pollution emitted by vehicles in the airport to the pollution emiited by vehicles in whole Chicago area",therefore, the use of "compared to" is wrong in this sentence and hence C and E are incorrect........please correct me if i am wrong.........

The first thing that comes to mind after seeing answers is the IDIOM AS Much As......But in this sentence that is not the case.....

A) is wrong because Awkward postion of being, but not because of that which....Usually "thatwhich" in Gmat refers to What Again thios what refers to the amount of pollutants.....So this portion is fine but the position of being after makes this a worng Pick...
b) is wrong : as much annually as is wrong because what is as much annually doing here???? this should be " twice as much amount as" then this is wonderful pick.....
c) is wrong: as much should be followed by as not by to
d) is correct because that refers to the amount of pollutants....and this nullifies all errors
e) Compared to is wrong usuage here by all should be placed here....

So answer is D

hi guys i also with D. and my two cents with above discussion. to me this sentence is full of redundant constructions
A) wrong for many resons: that which-not sure that it is right, two relative pronouns standing near
also being
B)as much annuallybut we have already annually in non underlined part of the sentence
pollutant emitted annually by vehicles
C)twice as much compared -wrong usage, i read that we can`t use compared when another comparative construction already exists
D) best answer
E)again wrong usage of compared
