Hi everyone,

I'm posting to get your opinions on my situation.

First off, I'm not applying to MBAs. I'm pre-experience undergraduate student (graduating in june 2009). Therefore, my plan is to apply for Masters in Management ideally in LBS, LSE, HEC, ESCP-EAP.... if you can think of any other good school pls feel free to recommend.

Background: politics student , Turkish, female, speaks French and English ( and obviously Turkish) fluently, spent one year of studies abroad (Paris) , active in extra curricular activities , 4 months internship at PwC...

Do you think I have a chance ?

thanks in advance
ozlem

Ozlem,

Gitmek istedigin okullarin student profile'larina goz at. Kac sene is tecrubesi, GMAT, GPA falan. Ama 670 GMAT her okula girmek icin yeterli bir score.

Iyi sanslar,

Iyi sanslar,
LBS in programi bu sene ilk defa aciliyor o yuzden average belli degil maalesef. digerlerinde de average 670 civarinda. programlarin hicbiri is tecrubesi istemiyor, hatta is tecrubeli olanlari discourage ediyorlar. GPA sanirim tek sorunum (3.2).. bizim okulda (GSU) biraz zor yuksek gpa yapmak... sanirim interview onemli rol oynayacak. bakalim :)
tesekkurler yardiminiz icin

Well only person who replied to my post replied in Turkish, so I suddenly felt like at home :)
In summary, he was telling me 670 should be enough for many schools but I should check their student profiles. I said all of the programs are for pre-experience people and averages are close to 670 (LBS average is not available since next year will be the first year of the program) but my major problem - I think- will be my GPA which is 3.2 :(
what do u think ?

Ozlem,

3.2 GPA + 670 GMAT definitely prove that you are academically qualified for any MBA programs. How you position yourself in the application will make the difference. I have couple of LSB alumni friends and they all have GPA's between 2.5 - 3. 0 , and MBA ADCOMS are aware of the differences between GPA's from different countries.

You might want to discuss with MBA consultants in this forum.

Focus on the rest of your application.

Good luck,

Oh my God that was some serious Turkish there  Thanks ozlem for translating :)

Well your profile looks pretty good for any university. But your GPA does look like an issue at least for LSE (since I read somewhere that they need GPA of 3.5+) since these programs are mainly for recent graduates so academic qualifications is a very important criteria on which they evaluate. But then again they also look at the overall competitiveness and diversity of the profile while selecting a candidate.

You can also look into Bath, Rotterdam and Strathclyde as potential options.
Rotterdam especially is a very good option and your profile match their requirements really well.

You can also submit your profile in the Ask MBA Consultant section for more expert opinions.

Good Luck
