I think it depends on where you are taking the test.
If you have Indian passport and taking test in India, it should not be a problem to mention middle name on mba.com even if your passport doesn't have middle name field and its combined with first name/Given name. (Thats what I got from few friends), also see below link
https://gmatandbeyond.blogspot.in/2012/0 ... bacom.html
You might have problem with this if you are taking test in US.
However I am not taking any chances and I have contacted GMAC though an email about name issue for Indian passport holder and what is the correct format. I will keep you guys updated as and when I get any response.
Also one weird thing that I noted, if you want to get name corrected, GMAC site says you will have to fax the photocopy of that document! ( They won't accept the scanned copy via email ?)
Not Allowed to take GMAT Test because of First Name mismatch

I guess I'm the newest victim! Abridged name in application doesn't match with that of my passport. And the guys are not letting me take the exam.
My test is scheduled at 9:00AM this morning and at 8:57 AM here I am typing this out in this portal.
AMAZING!
