Hi,
Agreed. This is there in all options. But, as the poster wanted to assure whether the usage is correct, we are having this discussion. I don't know if OG has used the terms 'simple/complex gerunds' and I haven't seen OE as well because I am not too convinced with OG explanations for some questions. I am more concerned about the underlying principle than the jargon. I have used these words so that I can express my view in a more precise way.

The OG doesnt explicitly mention terms such as gerund . It doesnt mention terms such as poissons rule , ellipsis, abstract modifier and absolute phrase either. It just shows their applications without explicitly attributing the application to some rule.

Hi Fankenstein, if you (or Mundasingh) could post those OG questions that you are not too convinced about, we can have a more relevant and specific discussion (sans the jargon:)).

As a general suggestion, when selecting an option, one must look for the "best" and not (what one thinks is) the "ideal" option.

p.s. OG does mention "Gerund" at multiple places. What I could not find was "simple/complex" Gerunds.

Thanks for your suggestion. In fact,I have been doing the same

Not looking OG for explanations. Referring BTG and MGMAT forums only

I agree that we need to choose the best of the 5 options during the test but I feel certain issues like gerunds, Verb-Tenses(perfect tenses),some modifiers are worth discussions like this. This has nothing to do with my strategy of attacking the SC question in test mode.

I am sure i found one such term as simple or complex in the OG . It could have been OG 10 as well .
