Hi all,
I've taken my first GMAT exam, and it was disappointing to say the least.
I scored a 660 (Q50, V30), which is below what I was expecting.
I'm aiming for 700+, and I have scheduled another test in end of September.
My scores for past exam are:
MANHATTAN: 640 (Q43, V34)
MANHATTAN: 690 (Q48, V36)
MANHATTAN: 650 (Q44, V35)
MANHATTAN: 610 (Q44, V31)
MANHATTAN: 610 (Q44, V31)
MANHATTAN: 690 (Q48, V36)
KAPLAN: 700 (Q53, V33)
KAPLAN: 640 (Q47, V27)
KAPLAN: 680 (Q51, V31)
KAPLAN: 670 (Q48, V34)
PRINCETON: 620 (Q45, V31)
OFFICIAL1: 690 (Q49, V34)
OFFICIAL2: 710 (Q50, V35)
OFFICIAL1 (RETAKE): 720 (Q49, V39)
That was the chronological order that I took the CATs.
Looking at the scores, I know for Quant I wouldn't have to do much except maintain what I've been doing, but Verbal has really been a problem for me.
I've read through a lot of posts here, and I guess the best advice for myself would be to know what my weaknesses are and improve on the weaknesses. Well I'd have to say ALL of the verbal sections are my weaknesses
For the first exam, I studied about 4 hours each day for 2 months.
Now I have just a little less than a month left, and these are the books that I've been studying. I'm not expecting to buy new books. Instead, I'll probably have to go through the books I already have one more time, more thoroughly.
1. Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction
2. Manhattan GMAT Reading Comprehension
3. Manhattan GMAT Critical Reading
4. Powerscore SC
5. Powerscore CR
6. Kaplan GMAT Premier
7. Princeton Review Manual for the GMAT
8. Kaplan GMAT 800
9. OG Verbal Review
10. OG 12th Ed.
If anybody could give me kind advices on how I could improve Verbal in a month, I'd really appreciate it.
My goal is to score above V38.
Thanks!
