Question stem, rephrased:
What is A : A₂ : A₃?

Statement 1: A₂ = A₃
Thus, A₂ : A₃ = 1:1.
No information about A.
INSUFFICIENT.

Statement 2: A₂ + A₃ = 2A
Case 1: A=2, A₂=1, A₃=3
In this case, A : A₂ : A₃ = 2:1:3.
Case 2: A=2, A₂=2, A₃=2
In this case, A : A₂ : A₃ = 2:2:2 = 1:1:1.
Since A : A₂ : A₃ can be different values, INSUFFICIENT.

Statements combined:
Substituting A₂ = A₃ into A₂ + A₃ = 2A, we get:
A₂ + A₂ = 2A
2A₂ = 2A
A₂ = A.
Since A = A₂ and A₂ = A₃, A = A₂ = A₃.
Thus:
A : A₂ : A₃ = 1:1:1.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is C.
