Public's interest is singular, thus the answer should use a singular verb has. rule out A

Shows --- should use plural verb... either shows that bring or shows that are bringing. Rule out C and D.

between B and E... I'm really stuck.

I think I would go with B because it describes it as an ongoing thing... the bringing of people...with increasing frequency

why can't "that" refer to shows?
doesn't it make sense?

I think so. Its the shows that bring people to television, and not the booming market.

Split :
1. Have / Has : Subject is "interest" so we need Has. A out.
2. that are / that is: Because subject is interest we need "that is" . B out
3. another person's life is incorrect. C out
4. we need "that brings" so E is out.
IMO D

OK..i think I got this one.. the correct answer should be D.

here "that" refers to the growing public's interest and not the shows. For the sentence to make sense -- its the growing public's interest in other peoples .... that is bringing people close to the television.

and "has" grown is singular because its the verb for "a booming market"

I would go with Target2009. he has logged the process quite well. however with few differences:

Out of public's interest in the details and conflicts in other people's lives have grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that are bringing "regular" people onto the television screen with increasing frequency.

A) other people's lives have grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that are bringing
B) other people's lives has grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that are bringing
C) another person's life has grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that is bringing
D) other people's lives has grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that is brining
E) other people's lives has grown a booming market for "reality" television shows that bring

'Market' Singular, hence 'A" is out. Kindly note the 'has grown' refers to 'market' and not 'interest'. The sentence is inverted!!
'market' Singular, hence option 'B' (are) & Option E (bring-plural verb) are out. the 2nd verb 'are' also refer to same subject 'market'.
This leaves us with Option C & D. If you look closely, option C uses 'another' which should refer to more than two entities, however it is followed by singular 'person's life'. This leaves us with D as the correct answer.

thanx.

I would exactly do the same reasoning. Thus my answer would be D.

It's obviously D .. Subjects .. Interest and market .. Leaves us with only one alternative ...D

The key is to realize that interest and market are singular !
