hi, I am no grammar expert, anyway i ll tell you what i think...

'have had' is a past continuous and later in the sentence .......'became' is used, which is simple past..... so choices A and B are out...

between C, D, E, I choose D.....

correct me if i m wrong in the grammar part.... and OA pls...

'Have had' is present perfect tense, which is used to connect the past with the present. However in this sentence, we dont intend to do any such thing. Since we are just stating a fact that took place in the past, we will use simple tense.
(B) During a time in which typically women have
Same as A
(C) Typically, during a time when women
Typically is an adverb, and adverbs modify verbs. Hence adverbs should be placed closed to the verbs they modify, in this case typically should be placed close to 'had'.
Also in this case your sentence actually reads, Typically Mary Baker Eddy, which changes the meaning.

(D) At a time when women typically
Typically correctly modifies the verb 'had'.

(E) Typically in a time in which women
Same as C.

Some thoughts:

"A time in which" is not correct. This kills B and E.
Typically should be placed to modify the verb. The options C and E has used "typically" to modify the whole sentence. This kills C and E.

"Have had" is present perfect tense. Qw should use past simple because the last part of the sentence is in simple past. A and b are are out for using "have had"

Answer is E, which has used "time when", typically, and past simple tense correctly.

Quickest approach:

In A and B, the present tense verb have does not match the past tense of the non-underlined verb became. Eliminate A and B.

In C and E, it is unclear what is modified by the adverb typically. Typically seems to be incorrectly modifying the verb became, but the intended meaning of the sentence is not that Mary Baker Eddy typically became a distinguished writer. The intended meaning is quite opposite: that, when Mary became a distinguished writer, women typically had a narrow range of choices. Eliminate C and E.

The correct answer is D.

in-addition to tense issue --- the period of time is redundant and wordy... eliminate A.

+1 for D... (typically correctly modifies women)

Hence A and D were left. Selected D!!! :)
If OA is A, IMO B
If OA is B, IMO C
If OA is C, IMO D
If OA is D, IMO E
If OA is E, IMO A
