We have seen some other programs storm the rankings after starting off anew or changing their program. Notre Dame did it when they jumped to #20 in the 2005 rankings (after not being previously ranked). Cornell had a similar jump in 2003 when their program changed and it landed them at #14.
Based on the prestige and full time rankings of the two aforementioned schools and their successful jumps, I would say that MIT could first make its rankings appearance as high as #9 and as low as #16.
That will put MIT in the Tier with Duke Fuqua, NYU Stern, Emory Goizueta and UNC Kenan Flager.
