Day 3 Question!!!

"In the Official Guide for GMAT Review, 13th Edition, review the section on Data Sufficiency on pages 269-272."

Hi there,

Should I do the exercises that come after page 272 and continue till 174 problems for Data Sufficiency or just review the Directions and move on to the Exam Practice Test 1?

Ideally one should finish all 174 Questions of DS before taking Practice Test 1.

I strongly disagree with Bhoopendra.

The first practice test is meant to provide you with a baseline score (to help gauge your progress in the future) AND give you an idea of what the GMAT is all about.

So, just review pages 269-272 to get a better understanding of what DS questions are all about, and then take the practice test.

Well, People have right to disagree but to take Practice test 1

1) one needs to know how to solve DS questions and should have information of directions to solve DS questions which are mentioned just before the 174 questions in OG-13.

2) One practice test should be taken after having understood the direction of questions with the intention to know the test and it's difficulty rather than assess the level of GMAT aspirant before preparation.

Hi Bhoopendra,

This is a question regarding the Day 3 learning activities in the 60-Day Study Guide (posted in the 60-Day Study Guide forum). I believe the student asked the question to clarify the directions, not elicit opinions on whether to deviate from the learning activities in the Guide.

When I created the 60-Day Study Guide, I felt (and still feel) that there are many benefits to taking a practice test early in one's studies. One of the best reasons is that it helps students gauge the amount of work required to reach their target score. I mention other benefits in that article I referenced.

Just out of curiosity, why do you feel that it's necessary to answer all 174 DS questions in OG-13 before taking a practice test?
