GMATPrep vs. Powerprep

by nehaajmera » Wed Oct 22, 2008 2:20 pm
Help!
I thought the GMATPrep and Powerprep are both indicative but I got a
score of 750 on powerprep (Q 50, V 41) and then I took the GMATPrep and got a 690 ! :-( so I am rather confused. I want to take the GMAT a week from today

I have solved
the entire OG11 by now and am going to solve the MGMAT question type practive, do the second GMAT and powerprep tests and possibly a third MGMAT test (I got 680 and 690 on each of these) and say a prayer and head to the test.

Does this sound like a sensible plan?

I really would like to hit a 750 in the real thing. Should I give it a few more weeks of practice before i give the test?

Above are links to two threads that discuss your question. Some of this site's experts (Stacy Koprince/Ian Stewart/VP_JIM/Eric/sorry if I missed anyone I just skimmed the threads) have posted in these links.

Also, in general, using the search function above can find you answers to a lot of your questions. Many people have similar questions about this exam. I'm not saying this to discourage you from posting but to expedite your ability to find answers for your questions. Someone may take multiple days to reply to a new thread. Whereas looking at an old thread on the same subject can potentially provide you with the answer to your question immediately.

In terms of your score deviating from what you received so far... focus (or lack of) and stress (or lack of) can be big drivers in either direction.
