(In necessary assumption, the author's argument is not likely to be so bold as to depend on an extreme assumption. Correct answer choices to strengthen/weaken and sufficient assumption questions may very well contain extreme language. (Extreme facts likely to have impact on argument in strengthen/weaken; and in sufficient assumption we are just looking for something which, if true, would allow the conclusion to follow--so if the answer choice is extreme it has a fair shot of doing this).
