I am with C, because "source in" is better.

I am between A or D. But A sounds better as the sentence is in past perfect and usage of "had" is appropriate..

C is incorrect as it changes the meaning..

In C, this doesnt sound right to me:
"..that human evil had its source in ..."

A is 100% out.

This is concept of Indirect Speech. so Verb form in that clause should be similar to main clause or it can be of early form.
was in main clause - had in that clause.

I m confuse between C and D.

In D, I have a feeling that 'declared' is not a working verb. So I will go C.

Wat is OA?

IMO:D.

Can some expert, please guide us to the right answer.

Can "had" ever be used with "until" or is it always the simple past?

Kindly help.

Thanks.
