Count me in for Rd 1. I'm taking my GMAT on August 14th (hoping for ~730), visiting the school on October 8th, and submitting my application shortly there after. I wish that I could visit and apply sooner but I'm about to start a killer travel schedule for work.

HI,

I am also applying to R1. I am really impressed by the access to McCombs student community to Hi-Tech companies, industry I am focusing on Post-MBA. I have not started with the essays yet, but will start soon.

Hi brianm, Thanks for volunteering to answer questions on this thread. From your experience of last yr's admission cycle, how much is the GMAT stressed on for people with technology background with respect to the overall package?

Also, I can't seem to find the link to start my applications though the essays have been declared along with the deadlines.. Does anyone know if the application link is opened ??

Thanks

brianm, Read your story on the forum which gives a lot of the answers most people have.

Just had one question, what did you mean when you wrote this ?

"· Waive the right to view recommendations. Honestly I was dumb and I didn't do this. I doubt it matters, but there is zero benefit for you not to waive the right. "

Hi hitmis,

Sorry for the delay - I don't check the boards as often as I should and school has picked up quite a bit.

I can't say how much GMAT is stressed by the adcom, as I haven't asked anyone about it. GMAT is a funny thing in that people care so much about it for applications, but once you're at school, nobody cares. I've seen a few GMAT scores in passing via resume reviews and such, but have had zero conversations about it. Just do your best and put your best package together.

I am one of the student members of the McCombs Admissions Committee so I do know a little about the application. They should be opening up the application very soon (I believe this week, but do not quote me on that).

When you fill out the form in the application with your recommenders' information, it will ask you if you want to waive the right to view their recommendations if you were to get into that school. I believe they are required by law to have this option for all students.

I (and many admissions consultants) recommend you ALWAYS waive the right. If you do not, admissions consultants suggest it may indicate less than 100% confidence in your recommenders' evaluation of you. If it has a negative effect I doubt it's noticeable, but in my opinion, it's not something you want to risk.

Does McCombs School of Business provide educational loans (without a co-signer requirement) to International students?

Hi guys,
I'm a bit confused here... have mailed the committee but havent really got crisp replies.

I submitted my application online on Nov 1, paid the app fee on Nov 10 (due to the What I Owe page taking time to get updated) but my application is still not complete.
Non availability of Financial support documents and the official transcripts sent directly to them is the reason as per the site. I have uploaded the transcripts though, and am arranging for the transcripts to be sent there asap.

I need to know what financial documents i can submit at this point. I was of the opinion that they require those after a student is given admission.
It would be great if the alumni present on the forum can help.

Best regards!
