Last month, GMAC (the makers of the GMAT) released a new mobile app tool for test takers, The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th Edition app. This app sells for $4.99 on iTunes and it's currently available for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad platforms.

The video above showcases a walk-through of GMAC's new mobile app on an iPod. Here are some key specs for this product:

  • Features 50 real (and retired) GMAT questions. You can purchase additional sets of 250 questions for $9.99 in the app.
  • Lots of GMAT concept lessons as well as MBA admissions advice from experts.
  • Simple, yet sophisticated interface for practicing questions, where you can time yourself and see progress reports.
  • Social gaming built in. A fun way to see who the top performers are using this app.

PROS:

  • This application is very well designed! Beautiful interface and easy to use.
  • Perfect for people who want to practice/study for the GMAT in short intervals (commuters, workers on break).
  • Timer function while practicing is fantastic, providing excellent training for test pacing.
  • It's the only app on the market that features real GMAT questions.

CONS:

Bottom line: if you are a GMAT test taker and own an iPhone/iPod/iPad, you should buy this app. This is the best GMAT mobile app I've seen to date. It's a tremendous tool to supplement your GMAT prep.
