Has anyone heard of the program called Masters in Engineering Management (MEM)??

I would like to discuss the prospects and pros/cons of such a program v/s the traditional MBA.

Are there are any other similar management programs designed specifically for engineers??

Well it's a far more focused degree than an MBA, in that you study both engineering and business with the idea to bridge the two. So obviously if your intent is to switch industries out of technology it's not the right program :) Otherwise they are designed to fit a need in the technology industry in which "General management" is not usually enough. You don't see many Tech CEOs that came from retail, cause it requires such a specialized knowledge as well, so the MEM is designed to address that need.

Hope this helps

Hi

First of all these are not standard variants of MBA.

Duke university, dartmouth, stanford etc provide such courses.....you require to take the GRE and TOEFL and preferrbly be from the engineering background....the placements are good if you graduate from the above colleges.

The fee will be less as the courses will have lesser duration, sometimes just one year.

Its obvious that if you are at Dartmouth, tuck faculty will teach you. Similarly you will get advantage of fuqua if you are at Duke.
