(1) A line with a negative slope declines from left to right, and thus will always intersect the 2nd quadrant - assuming that the line is infinite in b oth directions, there's just no way to draw it so that it doesn't intersect the 2nd quadrant at SOME point. Stat. (1) is sufficient.

(2) ALONE, this tells you nothing about the line, except that it intersects y axis at point -6. If the line's slope is negative, it will hit 2nd quad at some point; if the line's slope is positive (rising from left to right) or zero (horizontal, parallel to x axis) it will never his 2nd quad. Insufficient
