Mark can paint twice as fast as Joe.

So, for every 1 foot of wall that Joe paints, Mark can paint 2 feet of wall.
In other words, for every 3 feet of wall that the two man paint TOGETHER, Joe moves 1 foot and Mark moves 2 feet.
Generally speaking, for every x feet of wall that the two man paint TOGETHER, Joe moves 1/3 of x and Mark moves 2/3 of x

So, if the two man can paint 1 mile of fence TOGETHER, then Joe moves 1/3 of a mile, and Mark moves 2/3 of a mile.

Answer: B

Since Mark is twice as fast as Joe, he must have painted â…” mile of the 1-mile long wall and Joe must have painted â…“ mile when they meet. So their meeting point is â…” mile from Mark's end.

Since Mark is twice as fast as Joe, he must have painted 2/3 mile of the 1-mile long wall and Joe must have painted 1/3 mile when they meet. So their meeting point is 2/3 mile from Mark's end.
