I meant instructor of Manhattan is fluffy guy, not the veritas. I liked the Veritas Instructor since I havent seen the material of Veritas and Manhattan, i got good feedback in the forums here and some folks i talked to.

Neway, Veritas has able to send me soft copy of yesterdays lesson after dashing them my frustration when somebody says "I am confident that you will be Ok by sharing book or watching OnPrepDemand"

Neway, I am serious student and want to be positively motivated and that's why i dont want any negative energy to be drawn from me.

Now, I am happy with veritas as I have collected my shipment today and want to focus on veritas.

Again, my 2 cents, only reason i picked up veritas over Manhattan, Instructor from Veritas seems Ok to me compared to Manhattan instructor in Atlanta and materials from Manhattan seems superior as the feedback i got. I havent checked material of Manhattan yet, so it's only passive feedback and my impression.

One of my frustration is also because of lack of professionalism on Veritas when someone says, just be content with sharing books or watch online video.

Again, to reiterate my point at the risk of redundancy,
if I were to content with watching topic, there were so many excellent instructors on youtube, namely newtop,khan and some IIT professors from India teach subjects, please spare us from patronizing us.

I would not characterize Veritas prep as a scam or a hoax. I have personal experience working with this company as a tutor and can say that Chad knows the implications of taking your money and not providing service. I applied to Veritas when I was in between jobs and needed some money after seeing their advert in Craig's list. I mentioned that I had not taken the Gmats but had taught SATs. I was called for an interview and asked whether I can follow guidelines and teach after watching a video. I said I'll give it a shot. I was also advised that if anyone asks about my Gmat score, I should say that it was 760. The guy interviewing me told me that because I do not have extensive teaching experience, and because I had not done the Gmats, I will get paid $20 an hour. If the students start complaining, then I would be fired and I agreed to it. The company sent me overnight a video and a set of booklets. I was told to call back for a second debriefing session to go over the lesson books. I was told to walk the class through a set number of problems and them dismiss the group. If anyone asked any question that would stump me, I was told to say that Gmat does not test those types of questions any more and it would be a waste of time to discuss them. I taught about 10 classes and received about $600 before I quit. I could make more money waitering at a local bar.

The problem with Veritas is that they want to run their affairs from long distance. The guy, Chad, is in southern Cal and does not have the logistics working in his favour so that he could fly down and interview people. Veritas desperately needs people to engage a group because the group has paid big money to do the course. Based on the hiring process I went through, I would be offended if any company allowed a novice to turn up and be my tutor after asking me to pony up $1450. That's how Veritas prep runs its business. Is that a scam? No, I do not think so. Is it unprofessional? Yes, I would concur.

Most of the posts about Veritas hiring standards or lack thereof are correct. I was hired on phone interview for 40 minutes and then sent booklets to study. I was then asked to do a video chat via SKYPE (that is what veritas prep claims as video audition) and get my doubts cleared. I said that I had no doubts and found the mateials sent by the company not very good. I was coached to say that my GMAT score was 760 even though my actual score was 690. If anyone asks any difficult question for which I did not have answer, I was coached to say that GMAT does not test such problems or someone will get back to them. I was paid $20 an hour even though Veritas prep advertises $100 an hour. I was not told to apprentice as the company falsely claims. I could see that my students were not happy about their experience with veritas prep. I quit because I got a full time job that I was waiting for. All in all, veritas prep is a bad deal. Buyer beware!

I don't work for Veritas, but I'm going to call BS. When I was taking my class with Veritas a guy was sitting in on the classes because he was required to since he was a new hire. My instructor never once told me the GMAT doesn't test something, a matter of fact, she stayed 30 minutes after class helping me with problems that I asked her about. The fact that other companies will have people come on sites and pull up old threads to say negative things about the competition is really weak. Are you with Kaplan or Princeton Review, because I doubt any of the other companies have to resort to these tactics.

Could you let me know the name of the female instructor who taught your class and the centre where you took the course? As far as I can see, the new hire is not supposed to be sitting as student but teaching under the tutelage of the principal trainer. I did not have to work with any expereinced or otherwise trainer when I was hired. Please lt us know when and where you took the veritas course and the name of the chief instructor.

Sure....her name is Frankie and I took the course at the Wyndham in downtown Chicago. She's a great instructor and knew how to do everything we asked her including material from sources other than Veritas materials, so its not like she just memorized the Veritas material. In regard to the new hire that was sitting in on the class. The way my instructor explained it to me. First, a new hire has to take a class to understand how they work. Next, they serve as a TA so to speak for an online course and then s/he gets his/her own class. I honestly think you are a troll from another prep company but it is what it is.
