Magazine article_Need Expert Help

by yvonne0923 » Sat May 07, 2011 5:20 pm
Maas is, at best, able to write magazine articles of average quality. the most compelling pieces of evidence for this are those few of the numerous articles submitted by Mass that are superior, since Maas, who is incapable of writing an article that is better than average, must obviously have plagiarized superior ones.

A. It simply ignores the existence of potential countereevidence
B. It generalizes from atypical occurrences
C. It presuppoises what it seeks to establish
D. It relies on the judgement of experts in a matter to which their expertise is irrelevant
E. It infers limits on ability from a few isolated lapses in performance

__________________________________________________________________

Why not choice B?
Also, choice C, "it presupposes what it seeks to establish", is it supposed to be" it presupposes what it has already established?"
I have wording problems, since I couldn't identify the word accurately whenever I encounter such answers. AND how can I recognize that this problem belongs to the type of "Method of Reasoning". Need help!
O.A: C
Thanks.

Unable to understand:

Mass is a above avg writer.
He copy pasted his present writings from his previous best writings. His previous writings are superior.

what is 'it' here in options??
First take: 640 (50M, 27V) - RC needs 300% improvement
Second take: coming soon..
Regards,
HSPA.

This was the Veritas Challenge question back in August. Here is that article with a pretty thorough explanation.

Yvonne you have failed to post the question stem "The argument is most vulnerable to criticism on which one of the following grounds?"

That may make the question more understandable, this is also how you can recognize that it is a method of reasoning question. Most vulnerable to criticism is a "flawed" method of reasoning. It is like a weaken question only you are not weakening, you are just pointing out how it is already weak.

I'm very clear now, thanks for the link.
