2) The three-digit integer \(y\) is greater than 150.

Target question: What is the value of the odd three-digit integer y?
When I SCAN the two statements, they both feel insufficient, AND I'm pretty sure I can identify some cases with conflicting answers to the target question. So, I'm going to head straight to......

Statements 1 and 2 combined
There are at least values of y that satisfy BOTH statements:
Case a: y = 211 (Number is odd. Sum of digits = 4. Number is greater than 150). In this case, the answer to the target question is y = 211
Case b: y = 301 (Number is odd. Sum of digits = 4. Number is greater than 150). In this case, the answer to the target question is y = 301
Since we cannot answer the target question with certainty, the combined statements are NOT SUFFICIENT

Answer: E
