I have not started essays or recommendation letter process. I had a GMAT date set for February 11. I believe based on my practice scores, I am not ready and I believe I can do better. Round 3 deadlines seem to go from mid March to mid April. I am prepared to forget the March schools because and maybe I am wrong the later the better as for score. Although I am six months into studying, 4 of which serious.

Hmm...
Step 1 -- good thing you pressed 'pause' if you were convinced that there is an opportunity for you to go higher here.
Step 2 -- Business school is an enormous investment and offers the opportunity for you to change your life. It seems short-sighted to me that you'd consider simply writing off certain schools because their timeline no longer works with your revised schedule.
Step 3 -- Do you HAVE to go to b-school next year? I'd rather you come up with a master plan, apply for Round 1/2 next year, and get it right.
Thoughts?
