I could not finish my IR section in 30 mins in any of my mocks. I generally end up doing 7-8 questions. Will that be sufficient to get an 8? Or do I need to solve more?

I'm happy to address this.

First of all, a few key ideas on the scoring of the IR.
(a) section is not adaptive
(b) on each question page, there is no partial credit --- if there are 2 or 3 questions on the page, you must get all correct to get any credit.
(c) on any section, 8 of the questions are graded & for credit, and 4 of the questions are experimental, counting for no credit. That catch is: among the 12 questions, there's absolutely no way to tell which 8 count and which 4 are experimental.

The problem with only getting through, say, 8 questions on the full section --- it could be that as many as four of those eight are experimental & don't count, while as many as all four of the remaining questions do count. The way they have rigged this, you really have to make the effort to get through every question.
