IR

How many questions does one need to answer correctly to get a score of 8? Since IR section is not adaptive, so the logic of rest of the sections doesn't fit here(it's not the number of questions but the level of questions you're solving).

I could not finish my IR section in 30 mins in any of my mocks. I generally end up doing 7-8 questions. Will that be sufficient to get an 8? Or do I need to solve more?

Dear nipunranjan,
I'm happy to address this. :-)

First of all, a few key ideas on the scoring of the IR.
(a) section is not adaptive
(b) on each question page, there is no partial credit --- if there are 2 or 3 questions on the page, you must get all correct to get any credit.
(c) on any section, 8 of the questions are graded & for credit, and 4 of the questions are experimental, counting for no credit. That catch is: among the 12 questions, there's absolutely no way to tell which 8 count and which 4 are experimental.

The problem with only getting through, say, 8 questions on the full section --- it could be that as many as four of those eight are experimental & don't count, while as many as all four of the remaining questions do count. The way they have rigged this, you really have to make the effort to get through every question.
