International Double MBA Programs Harder To Get Into?

Hello -- I'm very curious about pursuing a double MBA program with a school in the US (the home school) and a Latin American based institution such as Fundacao Getulio Vargas or Universadad de Chile as I am interested in applying my concentration to the Latin American market. However, I am curious as to whether or not when you apply for the double degree programs if a- you are dinged from the domestic program (ie. if i apply for doubel degree @ Columbia and FGV) if you are not accepted to the overall program and b- are these harder to get into or just puts you in a seperate applicant p[ool

I think such double MBA programs are a great way to be introduced to a new market. You will build valuable relationships from such a program. Some schools have a separate pool for such programs, others don't. It comes down to the structure of a double MBA program - is it set up at the target school as a separate MBA program or is it a subset of the existing full-time MBA program (akin to a semester abroad). In the case of former, you may still ahve a shot at the double MBA program. Do ask the admissions office about your options - sometimes there may be special case exceptions.
