In his work, Leon Forrest is more reminiscent of Henry Miller's obsessive narratives and Toni Morrison's mythic languages than James Joyce's internal explorations.

(A) In his work, Leon Forrest is more reminiscent of
(B) Leon Forrest writes more like
(C) Leon Forrest's work is more reminiscent of
(D) Leon Forrest reminds one more of
(E) Leon Forrest's work more resembles that of
C vs E???? Which one is better and why???
C

I can't explain it from the grammar point of view, however, E would have posed serious problem if the statment were "Leon Forrest's work resembles more that of"...

Option C . A and D compare Leon with other writers' works.I think B and E are idiomatically wrong.

IMO C

If i look at Op C i get

Work is reminiscent(Adjective) of narratives and languages--->clear and meaningful

Op E

I think, use of THAT OF refers to work, so the sentence would mean in that case

Work more resembles(verb) work(that) of narratives and languages----> don't feel meaningful

Moreover, The word "MORE RESEMBLE" seems to me suspicious...just like we can not say "MORE DEAD"...same think applies for ""MORE RESEMBLE"" i guess...hence Op C
