Lets wait for someone else to clarify why E is OA

B for me as well.

stmt 1: simplified becomes
x < y + 1
so x could be = y or < y.

stmt 2: simplified becomes
x < y -1
so x is definetly < y.

so B.

How could it be E ?? is the OA correct ?
