If half of a full small pail of water is poured into an unfilled big pail, the big pail will be 3/10 full. How many times bigger than the small pail is the big pail?
(A) 3/2
(B) 5/3
(C) 3
(D) 10/3
(E) 5

Let the capacity of the small pail be s and
Let the capacity of the big pail be b
According to the question (1/2)*s = (3/10)*b. i.e. b = (5/3)*s. So, the big pail is 5/3 times the smaller one.
