Q.1)How many days after the purchase of Product X does its standard warranty expire? (1997 is not a leap year.)
(1) When Mark purchased Product X in January 1997, the warranty did not
expire until March 1997.
(2) When Santos purchased Product X in May 1997, the warranty expired in
May 1997.

kindly help me with this question(I don't understand why have they mentioned leap year thing in question)

Thanks for the quick response.
I figured the leap year thing, if it would have been a leap year then
minimum for statement1 would be 31 days.
and combining both the statements.

The answer would be C ( Both statements together sufficient) :D :)

Hi Manpreet,

The leap year thing is given so that the number of days can be accurately counted while working on options A and B. This is so because, option A has February included and option B does not.

I echo with Anurag and IMO, answer should be E.

Could you please elaborate your reason for choosing C and post OA?

The answer to my question is indeed E as explained by anurag.

But the answer would have been C if it had been a leap year, that's what I was trying to explain in the above post so please don't confuse.

Minimum validity is from 31st January to 1st March ( WE ARE SURE that 31st march as well as 1st march is not an expiry date HERE)

I'd agree with your interpretation of the calendar. If I buy a warranty on August 1st, and it lasts till August 2nd, that is a 24 hour, or 1 day warranty (not a 2 day warranty, per Anurag's interpretation, at least IMO - I guess it depends on the terms of the contract).

If you accept this interpretation, the warranty could be either 29 days or 30 days, given the two statements. (January 31st -> March 1st = 29 days, January 31st -> March 2nd = 30 days; March 1st -> March 30th = 29 days, March 1st -> March 31st = 30 days.)

So the answer is still E.
