I was contributing something to both Math and Verbal forums for GMAT prep within one single month of March. Taken together my contributions during only March could outweigh the several months of participation by my attackers...

I am closing this thread. I have my full time job to keep me busy and not to allow for such meaningless distractions and/or palls by these two members.

Do not open this thread if you wish to discontinue the participation about this topic simply.

None can represent ALL members of the BTG community and speak for them until being entitled with that privilege.

I only respond to you because I'm sick of you putting people down and coming up with bullshit conspiracy theories when you bomb the GMAT. If others are so blatantly ignorant and put other members down when they're obviously in no authority to do so, then I'll most likely call them out too.

Please ignore the other unpleasant people. It's unfortunate that your score was not as good as your practice run. This happens to the best of us. I find it hard to believe that someone with a PhD from a triple-accredited-program can have such a low verbal score. You sound so eloquent in many of your posts that are not only concise and profound but also not convoluted at all. There must be something wrong!

Let's retrace what you did in practice, when you scored well, and compare that with actual test conditions:

1) Did you use the pause button at all during the practice test? Used a calculator for the math section? Dictionary perhaps? Or a friend? These can all inflate your score!

I took a practice CAT once. I had Ron with me and scored 800. Needless to say, I did not do as well on the real thing because those conniving people at GMAC did not allow me to bring Ron in. Perhaps you can petition GMAC to allow you to simulate exact practice-test condition (ie take the test at the comfort of your own home). It's worth shot. For me, the slightest change in humidity and cloud-to-sun ratio can have a tremendous effect on my score.

2) I think your theory of the GMAT algorithm is on point and is well supported with good evidence, facts, and analysis. However, I would like to propose an alternative theory. Have you considered the "Reverse Slumdog Millionaire" effect? Whereby your life/practice experiences actually make you pick the exact wrong answer on the real test. This may very well be the case. Please consult the creative minds of Bollywood to investigate!

3) Do not fret about your low score. After all, what are optional essays for? Explain your case to admission. In fact, why bother re-making your arguments about the flaws/conspiracy of GMAC. Link them to these threads in the essay itself. If your persuasive breakdown does not convince them then the vibrant discussion will. Also, you have instant credibility with over post-counts.

4) Alas, one final point. Have you considered that you literally "beaten" the GMAT? Correct me if I am wrong but 47 is the highest possible score. Perhaps there are holes in the program that cannot handle scores higher than 47. The program might end up looping back to 1. So your score is really 47+16!

Hopefully, one of my points will provide some comfort and guidance for you.

I have created this post not to blame GMAT algorithm. Yes, I questioned, and later rejected my doubt without any one's assistance. I was trying to get some useful advice and help to understand the real causes behind my verbal score 16 in actual GMAT despite the different verbal scores achieved in practice exams.

I don't want to participate in that same thing for which i criticize others and requested Eric to step in (Though i edited that post after i saw Eric already stepped in), otherwise i would answer your question. Why you so easily get annoyed? In my post i asked everyone (not specifically you) to stop doing the things which is affecting the decorum of this community. Yes, i do read all the post because unfortunately i posted my comment earlier in this useless thread (where people are just fighting and blaming) and thats why getting e-mail notifications.

Eric i thought your step will take this thread in right direction but the things doesn't seems to get resolved. Its just a request, if you find appropriate please close this thread.
