You are correct...it is ungrammatical for people to use the object pronoun by saying "as good as me." However, there are many, many instances in which spoken English is used ungrammatically in everday speech. Such grammatical errors are often regarded as being acceptable -- even appropriate -- in everyday speech. In such instances, to insist on grammatical correctness could even be regarded as pretentiousness.deepoe wrote:Just saw people say : as good as ME? but isn't it as good as I (am) ??
Deepoe: I am a native English speaker who is studying grammatical correctness for the first time in my life in order to prepare for the GMAT. I am now amazed at how many grammatical nuances I was never aware of. I'm stunned.
The sentence correction questions in the GMAT are designed to exploit the testee's tendency to presume that English -- as it is spoken in casual interpersonal situations -- is grammatical, when in fact it is not.
