Test prep and qaunt

by Rastis » Mon Sep 26, 2011 5:01 am
Hi,

I'm having a extremely difficult time grasping the concepts for math and also having an extremely hard time not going blank on practice tests. I score very well on verbal homework problems but when I hit the test the highest I've gotten is a 35. More terrifying is that ever since my GMAT prep course ended my scores on practice tests has been going down considerably. Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

There are 2 primary aspects to succeeding on the quant section.
1) Understanding the all of the concepts tested
2) Using GMAT-specific strategies to apply those concepts to questions

As you might imagine, a solid understanding of the concepts is an absolute prerequisite before you can possibly apply those concepts.

Some materials assume that you already understand the concepts, so they jump right into the application. If you're not 100% sure of the concepts, be sure to find materials cover the concepts in a comprehensive manner.

Cheers,
Brent
