Considered by many the premier African-American playwright, August Wilson made his most important contribution with the Pittsburgh Cycle, ten plays set in the ten decades of the twentieth century; his works - usually set in Pittsburgh's Hill District - are performed more often than any African-American playwright.

my pick D
A comparison.....the frequency of August Wilson's works(performed) are being compared to those of African-American playwrights...hence
more.....is followed by than...also those is needed so as to clearly state that the its the frequency of plays that is being compared.
Life is all about ass; you're either covering it, laughing it off, kicking it, kissing it, busting it, trying to get a piece of it, or behaving like one.

The question is of course made a bit more challenging by the way we often refer to the works of artists and authors by the names of those people: "I'm studying Shakespeare this year" or "He owns a genuine Picasso". As you all noticed, though. GMAT comparisons do need to be between similar things.
