How does sending out scores work?

by upkarsgrewal » Tue Nov 09, 2010 11:39 am
So I have decided to go back to school, I have my target schools and am taking the GMAT right before Christmas. I plan to get all the applications finished and in right before I take my GMAT, then have my scored sent to the schools since it is the last thing on the list. I know this test date might be a little late for round 2, but its the way things panned out.

My question is, is this a sensible approach the application?

What if my scored are not satisfactory, what would I do since I might want to take again? A school wouldn't hold the app until I reported my second score, they would most likely reject the application if the score wasn't high enough?

And Finally, If I need to take the test a second time, what would be the best way to apply? After my first attempt?

You cannot retake a GMAT within 31 days of taking your first (as far as i remember).
So you will need to apply in R3 if you plan to retake. R2 deadlines are Jan 1 to 15.

I took my gmat on the 27th oct and the confirmation that the schools received the scores for me came on 1st Nov.
But it could take a bit longer, my first take took 8 days to be reported to schools - all US schools.
