X + Y = 100ern5231 wrote:In an examination, there are 100 questions. For correct answer, 5 marks are awarded but for each wrong answer 2 marks are deducted. Which of the following marks could be obtained?

5X - 2Y = A Assume one of the five choices
Eliminate Y
7X = A + 200
Test for A = 192
7X = 192 + 200 = 392 = 7 * 56
Hence A
