ok I seem to have caused confusion by placing light blue/green circle
forget that for now,
imagine that you are trying to draw a circle with a pair of compasses inside a 2inch by 2inch square, you would need to place the center of circle right in the middle (1inch away from both horizontal and vertical line) and set the radius to be 1inch right?
now take that pair of compasses and draw a circle right on the line of square (any side) with center 1 inch from the corner, what do you get? a exact same picture I drew with blue circle.
I mean, the side of square is 2*r0, why would it be wrong for me to say vertical r0 is equal to r0 (center of circle to the square)?
or am I misunderstanding your question?
