Dr. Hakuta's research among Hispanic children in the United States indicates that the more the children use both Spanish and English, their Intellectual advantage is greater in skills underlying reading reading ability and nonverbal logic.

A. Their intellectual advantage is greater in skills underlying reading ability and nonverbal logic.
B. Their intellectual advantage is the greater in skills underlaying reading ability and nonverbal logic
C. The greater their intellectual advantage in skills underlying reading ability and nonverbal logic
D. In skills that underlay reading ability and nonverbal logic, their intellectual advantage is the greater
E. in skills underlying reading ability and nonverbal logic, the greater intellectual advantage is theirs.

The more....the greater is used properly among all the option choices.

take a closer look at choice C, we can see there is no verb, how it could be true.

its a descriptive phrase dont need a verb.
the verb in this sentence would be indicates

the more you underline the error part,the better it gets....

it is parallel as well
so i think its C

I dont think your analysis is correct .

The sentence has one main subject and one main verb . Lets analyze

Dr. Hakuta's research[subject] among Hispanic children in the United States indicates [verb]that

Now what his research indicates are 2 things :

1.the more the children use both Spanish and English

2.the greater their intellectual advantage in skills underlying reading ability and nonverbal logic

These two things need to be parallel .

Now lets look what would happen if we introduce a verb in 2 nd part .

The sentence will be a clause . And the sentence before the comma is also a clause . So we can not join two clauses just by a comma - that will be a run on sentence .

"Know thyself" and "Nothing in excess"
