Work Situation --- Admissions Strategy

Hello Lisa,

I hope you can help me with this question as well ))

I am almost ready to press the submit button on my applications, but before I do so, I would like to know your opinion if I am doing a right thing...

The office I am working in now, is closing down in November-December. Technically, I am still going to be an employee when the admission process is going and when i am (hopefully!) invited for an interview.

Still, I feel quite bad that I do not mention this close down situation anywhere in my application.

I built a whole strategy with me being an employee and to tell the truth, I don't want any changes now. But is it truly ok to be doing the application this way?

Dear Vitalina,

You pose a good question and I think different people will give you different answers. Since you are still employed there, it is reasonable to show that in your application. You are not aware of the actual closing date yet, and have only been told a timeframe of when to expect it. Thus you really can't say definitively when you will be leaving that company. I would suggest leaving your applications as they are (reflecting you are currently employed by the company), but prepare to talk in your interview about the closing of your office and your plans between January and August of next year.

Many thanks! Yes, that's what I am going to do. I do believe that it is fair and reflecting the real situation, but I will make a point of mentioning it during interview
