Great my vote for D.. It tests parallelism in "participles".
I have updated the post with the OA. Can you please explain what is || in participles? I still couldn't understand why the gerund here is correct.
In OG 12 check 94 question in SC segment. U will see a question testing on Participle parallelism.

Even that Mushroom filgree in OG 10 is good one testing the same concept.
