Guys I took two 2007 version Kaplan Tests, and my score, quite literally was worse than I could even imagine. I got a 550 in one! And the verbal was just way too confusing. But in both tests, I've done quite worse in Quant. I got a 40 in first, and a 35 in the second! Got about 13 questions wrong on each test, and many questions seems way too difficult (dont think a 550 guy would even see those questions). The overall test never became that easy, and the stress resulted in 4-5 silly mistakes too! Does anyone remember if the older Kaplan tests usually give you lower scores (as low as less than 600)?

I'm absolutely broke now, should I start giving the GmatPrep Tests? Is it normal to have such low caliber results in prep test?

I gave the PowerPrep (older version for ETS) tests, and scored a 730 (Q49/V41) - although most questions were from the OG, so dont know if that would help. Dont have new kaplan books in my country, can you suggest anything? Also thinking of giving the free PrincetonReview test. Just a note, I'm giving a lot of tests on a regular basis, any reason that could actually get my score lower? For example, I gave the Kaplan Test just the day after I gave the PowerPrep.

have practiced gmat for 3 months now, OG-11/12 completely. my performance in those books aren't this bad!

Definitely check out this page, since there are some links to free tests that we've compiled: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/resources

Your most accurate indicator of your current performance is definitely GMATPrep. I usually recommend students to take one GMATPrep test in the beginning of your prep, and then one at the end. PowerPrep is still a great simulator, but the questions in there are old. GMAT questions do evolve over time (but not by much), so it's always in your best interest to prepare with the latest material.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot Eric.

I just thought that I shouldn't be wasting those precious tests. Plan to give the actual test in about 4 weeks, so I'll be givng this. Just wanted to give a few other tests, so I could build endurance. I can solve a lot of problems from books, but in time-pressure and sometimes when I know I couldn't solve 2-3 questions that were easy, I start losing focus on the remaining stuff. So was just trying to fix this ASAP, and then start with the GMATPrep. If I do bad in GMATPrep it will seriously depress me.

But I think it's getting about time I get ready for those prep tests.

You should be a little more optimistic in your outlook. Your PowerPrep scores are pretty fantastic, and I don't think that PowerPrep is that far off from GMATPrep (which is not far off from the real GMAT). Keep your head up! :)

Thanks once again. I think that's what's killing me. I'm feeling pressured, and making mistakes on problems I could solve before. But I'm working on it. Can you please tell me if the GMATFocus tests could be different from GMATPrep. They are by the same guys I guess, so I could also try 3 of those tests. Haven't seen anyone reporting GMATFocus test scores in this forum, seems strange - as the prep tests seems like pretty close to official stuff.

BTW, GMATfocus says, it's a quantitative exam, that means just the Quant section?

From what I understand about GMAT Focus, it offers 3 quantitative tests of 24 questions each. I don't think these have been popular with students (even though they feature real but retired questions) because it does not cover verbal, nor does it simulate a full quant section (only has 2/3 the # of questions for each diagnostic test!).

I would not recommend GMAT Focus is you're seeking full tests. Thanks!
