y = 2 has a slope of zero and intercept of 2.

the x intercept is infinity.
i got ur problem now .this fact of urs is conceptually wrong !! intercept are made when the line crosses the X or the Y axis .a parallel line to either X or Y axix is not meeting those axis any where . coz if they were then the lines will not be parallel at first place !!

I agree with your concept of intercept of line. I said infinity because I thought it would be easy to comprehend but I guess it did lead to confusion. Actually x intercept is not defined for line y=2 or any line parallel to x axis.

infinity or not defined are same .the fact is that this line is not cutting X axis any where so the intercept which any line makes with coordinates (0 , 0 ) is nil or zero .

nil and zero are 2 different things; zero means origin while nil means not anywhere, which is same as not defined. Also infinity or not defined are not same in everywhere.

i am not sure what it means
but i will put it to rest .i just checked this problem in net . its a prep problem and the answer is E .the reasoning of prep is same as mine .so i guess that concludes it .
