In B and C, the referent for those seems to be contributions, implying the following:
contributions given by large companies.
A contribution = SOMETHING GIVEN.
Thus, it is redundant to say that SOMETHING GIVEN was GIVEN by large companies.

Can you please also explain why E is correct? I thought the " 's " is unnecessary, because it would mean corporate contributions from Petercom's? What am I missing here?

OA: Few of the corporate contributions to the earthquake relief fund, apart from Peterocom's [contributions], departed significantly from the usual amounts.
The word in bracket iz omitted but implied.
Conveyed meaning:
Few of the corporate contributions departed significantly from the usual amounts.
Peterocom's contributions are an EXCEPTION: they DID depart significantly from the usual amounts.
