contrast in this case is between 'trade imbalances' and 'trade deficit'

So, the second clause should start with trade deficits.

A is correct
B) wrong since comparison is not correct. Also sold exports is awkward
C) same as B
D) same as B
E) comparison not between 'trade imbalance' and 'trade deficit'
