In my opinion, its a misconception that these types of questions are asked ONLY when someone is at high end of scoring.. Maybe majority of the time they are asked when someone is doing well on the test, but assuming that there is no exception would be illogical..

Regarding reevaluation, you can only request reevaluation of your AWA score. GMAC does not accept reevaluation requests for the entire test. Their website says that they calculate your score thrice using their algorithm before making your score official..

I did complete MGMAT 5 books for Quant..CR Bible..MGMAT SC..OG12,10..supllementry official guides...was getting 680-710 on MGMAT tests & 620-630 on KAPLAN tests..but stilll got 650 (Pathetic in Verbal-28)

What else should i cover up for my next attempt..any downloads etc. from this site,additional materials..pls guide!!

Even if this were the case, it's possible that it was one of the experimental questions that didn't actually count towards your score or reflect your true level of performance.

I think your are almost there.. all you need to do is come up with a better strategy for the test.. I see that your quant score is good.. I suggest you practice only 700+ level questions for quant.. try Platinum GMAT's free CAT.. quant section in that test is really tough.. try to take your quant score to 50-51 points.. you are almost there.. Coming on to verbal.. I am not sure what was your average verbal score during practice tests.. If you were scoring in high 30's, then one of the reason you scored low in verbal could be that you ran out of stamina.. In that case my advice to you would be that write as many practice tests as you can.. There are lot of free practice tests available online.. write as many tests with AWA section as possible, so that you can build the stamina for the test and that you don't face concentration related problems during verbal section.. if you decide to write a practice test without AWA section, then remember that the verbal score you'll get would be inflated..

Maintain error logs for verbal questions... review them as often as you can.. its really important.. specially for SC and CR.. I hope you know that you can write GMATPrep tests multiple times.. Write both the GMATPrep tests at least twice.. When you write them again, reduce your overall score by 30 points since you are likely to get 2-3 repeat questions in quant and 6-7 in verbal.. One more thing, keep practicing hard till you consistently start hitting 30 points more than your overall target score.. I am saying this because usually the variation between the test taker's practice scores and the official GMAT score is +/- 30 points.. that means that even in worst case scenario, most probably you'd achieve your target score..

Usually people score 10-20 points more than what they used to score on MGMAT tests.. did you write MGMAT CATs with AWA section? I suggest you use MGMAT test analysis tools to find out your weaknesses in verbal section.. I am not a fan of Kaplan Tests.. I don't think their algorithm is anywhere close to that of the GMAT. Difficulty level of quant questions in Kaplan Tests is not up to the GMAT standard, but you can use these tests for verbal practice..

That is also my score for my GMAT, exact the same split.
And, I am really relieved that what hardik said was true for me.
I did all the OG Qs and, all the verbal strategy guides, maintained Error Logs, I even did not leave any wrong also some suspect correct questions untouched. Extracted takeaways also.
But did poorly on the real thing.
Why ?
Because I burned out and tired when I saw the last quantitative question, my stamina was broken apart.
I did not even understand the sentences I read only once.
And also because I only did 1 GMATPrep practice and nothing at all. Nothing. I scored 700, but some verbals were repeat because I ve already solved them in OG.

I am really tired now; I already exhausted all the material for GMAT. Made the error logs etc.
However, because I did not gain practice test experience, i did poorly.
