GMAT STUDY SCHEDULE

by LSJK » Thu Sep 11, 2008 7:48 pm
To all,

I attached a copy of an excel sheet that contains a 4 month GMAT study schedule. Please feel free to use it as you see fit. The first month is used to get comfortable with the material. Months 2-4 are designed to be more challenging and as such you may want to time each exercise day. (i.e. 2min per math question; 1:49min per verbal question). The spreadsheets are also designed to give you an accuracy score. I aim for a 80% accuracy rate, with a 90%+ target. Total week average should be 425%+ accuracy.

As always let me know how I can help. Please feel free to make needed adjustments.

Good luck.

Thanks for the schedule. I'm just starting with my preparation for the test. Can you share what books/online testing/etc you used for your preparation? Thanks again!

Although I am not an Engg. student, but I had very detailed math courses until high school. But when I started practicing for the GMAT I found that I'm lacking in concepts, and taking more than required time to solve for the questions. It's been 13 days since I have started studying, but I feel deeply unmotivated because of my poor quantitative skills.

As for the verbal practice, it's not a wonder that I am lacking in the verbal section too since I am a non native english speaker! I am pointing out some of my major lacking in both Quant. and Verbal sections-

Problems in PS & DS Section:
1. Algebra applied problem
2. Arithmetic applied problem
3. Integers
4. Rate, time, distance problem

Problems in RC, CR & SC Section:
1. RC- lack of patience to read the whole passage & need to go through the passage over and over again.
2. CR- face difficulty in making inferences, conclusions etc
3. SC- somewhat okay with this section, but still need to improve.

---------
Now at this point, I really am confused from where should I start studying? How could I prepare myself within this amount of time?

My exam date: Nov. 27 2008
Target Score: 650+
