This is not easy to discuss through a posting. I remember getting this question wrong as well in the GMAT prep.

My advice is to draw it out on paper, and try to think in an abstract way as you move the circle several ways while holding the triangle fixed.

yes i tried doing that....but still dont understand how can a circle intersect triangle in one point....if touching one of the lines of triangle is ingteresecting then yes the ans is correct otherwise its only 2,4,6...any comments....

If the circle is tangential to the triangle, then it should be at one point.

also when one end of the line(say PtA) lies on another line, they are said to be intersecting at PtA, thus if we have vertex of the triangle(i.e say PointX) on a circle.The triangle & cirlce would said be intersecting at the above mentioned Point B.
