Two similar triangles have bases s and S. If the area of the triangle with base S is twice the area of the tiangle with base s, then in terms of s, S =

a) ((sqrt2)s)/2
b) ((sqrt3)s)/2
c) (sqrt2)s
d) (sqrt3)s
e) 2s

ratio of Area of similar triangles = ratio of square of similiar sides

therefore

A2 = 2* A1

A1/A2 = s^2/S^2

A1/2A1 = s^2/S^2

1/2 = s^2/S^2

1/sqrt(2) = s/S

S = sqrt(2)s
