imo B

statement 1

price per pound of apple = x
Therefore, 5x dollars buys 5 pounds of apples

price of peach per lb = x + 0.5

pounds of peach bought for 5x dollars = 5x/(x+0.5)

therefore statements 1 is insufficient

now, statement 2

price of apple per pound = x
Therefore, 5x dollars buys 5 pounds of apples

price of peach per lb = 1.5x

pounds of peach for 5x dollars = 5x/1.5x or 5/1.5 = 3.33lb

Hence, answer is B
